Our second trip to Punta Cana was April 2007. Cathy, Tony, Kelci, David, and I went to the "Gran Bahia Principe". What an incredible (and BIG!) resort. Check out some of out pics:
Arriving in Punta Cana at the airport. The heat was so intense as we stepped off the plane!
Everybody waiting for me (as usual).
One of the beautiful pools, where we spent most of our days! Notice the pool bar straight across the pool.
Dancers greeting people as they arrive.
There were several large statues around the resort made from metal. I love them. This one is located beside the main lobby as you enter the resort.
Looking through one of the lobbies.
Dave and I had the most incredible room! A four-poster bed, large balcony, flat-screen TV, tons of space, and a really big bathroom. I loved our room!
If you look really hard, you can see the water and the beach from our balcony.
Here's my Uncle Tony, walking across the patio.
Here is Dave, having a beer on our balcony on the 3rd floor.
This is me - chilling out in the pool. Tony & Cathy brought these amazing chairs with them. Tony gave them to a lady from Toronto on our last day, and he told her to give them to somebody else before she left. Are the chairs in the Gran Bahia pools? (I doubt it).
Kelci and I played tennis our last morning there around 9:00 AM. Boy, it was too hot to play for long, even in the morning. We had fun though.
My cheese calzone that I ordered for lunch from the Italian restaurant on Friday. It was filled with cheese, and it was yummy!
Uncle Tony splashing around the pool in one of the inflatable chairs.
Another shot of our villa and our balcony. David and I were in Villa #65 - it was such a huge resort!
A pic of a map on the resort, showing the villas, pools, restaurants, etc. Our villa was so new, the section was not yet on the map!
The beautiful grounds.
The main pools by the beach. We did not spend a lot of time here as it was so busy and loud.
The view from the hallway outside our room. If you look really for ahead, you can see the roofs of some buildings; these are other villas within our resort.
Looking towards the beach from in front of our villa.
Outside the Mexican restaurant. This is my favourite meal! It was so incredible.
The evidence from Dave's "near-death experience". He found this spider in our room (I am SO glad I was not there when it happened). Our maid, Amelia, came in and took care of it. This is what is left of the spider after it was squashed by Amelia's towel, and it sat in the hot sun for 4 hours, and it was half-eaten by the ants. Poor David!
